This week's missionaries are Dave and Ev Southwell-
The Southwells are on their final stretch as missionaries.
Dave began his career as a pastoral intern at Emmanuel when he graduated from
seminary. They were missionaries to Brazil
where his wife, Ev, had grown up. He was the senior missionary that opened the
field of Portugal. Now he is the
regional director for ABWE over Brazil and other parts of S. America. He visits different parts of the field three
of four times a year. Dave has been
battling (prostate) cancer for several years; his wife has lupus. At the end of next year, they will be
retiring.
- Pray for safety and energy as they frequently travel to visit missionarie
- Pray for Dave as he witnesses to the doctors in Texas where he travels to fight cancer.
- Pray for Dave as he hands over his responsibilities to younger missionaries
