ebcgrow.com

During the first 3/4 of 2014, this ebcgrow.com website contained weekly Bible reading, memory verses and prayer requests.
Due to a lack of traffic to this site, we are not going to continue this site. Some of these same resources will now be on either the church blog (blog.emmanuelbaptist.com) or the ekidz family ministry blog (ekidzministry.blogspot.com).

Spiritual Health Questions: Part 2

Use the questions from yesterday and today to evaluate your spiritual health.  You can download a pdf of these questions HERE or go to  www.emmanuelbaptist.com/images/File/tenspiritualhealthquestions.pdf
These questions are taken from Don Whitney's book 10 Questions to Diagnose Your Spiritual Health.

6.  Do you delight in the bride of Christ?  "Demonstrate your delight in the bride of Christ in ways that will make a real difference. The work of the local church is the work of Jesus in the world. How can anyone place a low priority on involvement with the work of Christ and think he or she is becoming more like Christ?"
7.  Are the spiritual disciplines increasingly important to you?  "Devote yourself more to the pursuit of Christlikeness and the enjoyment of God through the spiritual disciplines than to the pursuit of efficiency and the completion of to-do lists."
8.  Do you still grieve over sin?  Godly sorrow over sin involves true sorrow,  real humility and genuine humility.
9.  Are you a quicker forgiver?  "Many professing Christians are too easily offended. Some almost seem to take pride in their ability to hold a grudge or in their refusal to humble themselves or in their resistance to seeking or extending forgiveness. True Christians love forgiveness. Because of God's forgiveness of them, they think it beautiful and Godlike to give or get forgiveness."
10.  Do you yearn for heaven and to be with Jesus?

Spiritual Health Questions: Part 1

Use the questions from today and tomorrow to evaluate your spiritual health.  You can download a pdf of these questions HERE or go to  www.emmanuelbaptist.com/images/File/tenspiritualhealthquestions.pdf
These questions are taken from Don Whitney's book 10 Questions to Diagnose Your Spiritual Health.
1. Do you thirst for God? (For a copy of this first chapter click HERE or go to www.biblicalspirituality.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Do-You-Thirst-for-God.pdf)
2. Are you governed increasingly by God’s Word?  "Train yourself to ask 'How does the Bible speak to this?'"
3. Are you more loving?  "Identify those relationships where you most need to grow in love.
4. Are you more sensitive to God’s presence?  One way Whitney suggests to do this is to "seek Him in the manifestations of His presence given only in congregational worship."
5. Do you have a growing concern for the spiritual and temporal needs of others?  "No one who is indwelled by the Spirit of Jesus can remain unfeeling toward either the temporal or the spiritual needs of others made plain."
