There are two Bible memory programs you could use:

1. the EKIDZ memory verses.  This week is a James 4:6, 7 for 1st through 5th graders and James 4:6b for pre-kindergarteners.  This could be done with kids up to 5th grade.

Churchwide prayer...

Pray for the students (middle school, high school and college) in your church.

Pray for those whose families attend church.  Pray they would be a testimony of God’s holiness and mercy to friends, family and neighbors.

Pray for those whose families do not attend church.

Pray the students will be vibrant witnesses in their schools. Ask the Lord to give them strength in temptation.

Pray for Pastor Dan and Laura and the other volunteers as they minister to the middle school and high school students.

Pray for Pastor Paul and other CBF volunteers as they minister to students at UT and other campuses in the area.

This week’s missionaries are Jon and Marilyn Rust- Portugal – The Rusts are veteran church planters in (greater) Lisbon, Portugal.  They are trying to raise money to construct a church in Samora. (grown children)

Pray for their English classes at the BestSeller Bookstore- (their Christian bookstore that shares Christ with the clients.)

Pray for new missionaries that have just joined them: Andy and Mara Cook

Pray as they try to raise an additional $150,000 for the construction of a church

Missionary Prayer:  

This week’s missionaries are Joe and Meta Arthur- Brazil- Joe directs the      Regular Baptist Seminary in Sao Paulo Brazil where Emmanuel sent a team about four years ago.  He also teaches graduate seminary classes.

Pray that the Lord would continue to bring in a good number of seminary students and  educated teachers

Pray for their daughter, Jill, who is on an all-summer missions trip to Peru

Pray for New Life Baptist Church which meets at the seminary- the church is 3 years old and is growing, with about 80 in attendance each Sunday.  They will be looking for land to build their own church soon.  Rejoice in many who have been recently baptized.

Pray for Meta who struggles with M.S (multiple sclerosis)

The Arthurs are missionaries in Brazil, where the World Cup is going on right now!!

Jeff and Karla Totten- Jeff heads/directs  Score Ministries and is the chaplain to the Detroit, Tigers.  From June to September he conducts chapel when the Tigers play at home.  In addition he also has a seminar for coaches and their wives.

• Pray for Jeff as he ministers to the Tiger
• Pray for the team members who profess Christ—that they would be bold witnesses
• Praise for the May 10 “Homeplate” witness at Comerica Park- Christ was lifted up and many were blessed (227 people raised their hand to receive Christ!)
